they're a concept band. it’s like a concept album but the whole band. it follows dallon weekes (subject A) and ryan seaman (subject B) as they're being controlled by an organization called tellexx.
they're made to travel through different time periods as a band, meant to be undiscovered (hence the name). there's music videos with dates from the 1980s, claiming to be “found footage” from audition tapes from the band. (most prominent in the modern day cain [slow jam] music video). there's music videos and songs where dallon is CLEARLY distressed and erratic. he claims to be hallucinating; “i hear voices, i see visions, these spirits are your prison” (absinthe).
in the background of some music videos, a figure is seen who’s referred to as the “white shadow.” it’s a human-like creature, who is completely white with blurry and barely visible facial features. it's seen prominently in the videos nobody likes the opening band, new invention, merry christmas everybody, [etc]. it can be seen as blurry figure fading in and out of the background in leave me alone (acoustic version). in all these videos, the shadow seems to be observing them, almost seeming to be making sure they're doing as they're told. the shadow often looks to the camera when dallon stands up or starts to look destressed; almost like making sure he doesn't tell anyone what's going on or ask for help.
the most interesting song and video of theirs in my opinion is leave me alone. the music video shows dallon and ryan in a laboratory of sorts, wearing white jumpsuits labeled subject A and subject B respectively, along with white medical masks. for much of the video, they're trapped in a specific area of the room that appears to be enclosed in clear plastic. there are security cameras seen around them, and wires hooked up to their bodies as they’re performing inside the area. doctors(?) are taking notes and seem panicked.
